Sean Dayton is an award winning worship leader from North Bay, Ontario. He and his wife, Aimee, have released 3 albums: "All Who Are Thirsty", "Hymns: A Modern Translation", and their newest, "Hear The Sound". Sean and Aimee were nominated four times at the 2004 Shai (Vibe) Awards and received awards in two of the following categories; "Worship Album of the Year"; and "Inspirational Album of the Year". They were also awarded, at the 2006 CGMA's (Covenant Awards), "Inspirational Album of the Year" for their Hymns CD and 3 CGMA nominations in 2010 for their “Hear The Sound” CD.
Their songs have been featured on several compilation CDs; including two of Integrity's "Maximum Worship" compilations. They have performed live on Canada's nationally broadcast "100 Huntley Street".
Their song “Heartbeat” won 1st place in the International Songwriting Competition (Gospel/Christian category). 15,000 songs were submitted from 115 countries. Some of the judges included Michael W. Smith, Jeremy Camp, and Matt Thiessen (Reliant K).
At the age of 18, Sean played guitar alongside one of the most prolific worship songwriters of our time, Paul Baloche (author of "Open The Eyes Of My Heart" and "Above All"). It was during this time that Sean felt called to pursue music and worship leading. He continued to work on his craft by touring as a guitar player for the Acquire The Fire worship team. And then through his relationship with Brian Doerksen (author of "Come, Now Is The Time To Worship" and "Refiner's Fire"), received valuable training in the area of worship songwriting.
Sean and Aimee are currently the worship leaders at their home church in North Bay, Ontario. They have a daughter named Mackenzie (born October 2007).
Their latest CD was produced by Brent Milligan (David Crowder Band, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kathryn Scott). Their first 2 radio singles have been getting significant airplay across Canada - both songs reaching the Top 5 (CCRC).
In 2010, the Dayton's toured across Canada playing approximately 70 events. They are artist associates for “Food For The Hungry”.
