Sean Dayton is a recording artist, music school owner, and songwriter from North Bay, Ontario. He has released 5 albums alongside his wife, Aimee, and garnered several GMA Canada awards and nominations.
His interest in music began at a young age and by 18 he was playing guitar alongside prolific worship songwriter Paul Baloche (Open The Eyes Of My Heart, Above All). He continued to work on his craft touring North America as a guitar player for a Texas-based youth ministry. He eventually met Brian Doerksen (Come, Now Is The Time To Worship, Refiner's Fire) where he received training in worship songwriting.
His music has taken him to hundreds of churches across Canada, U.S., and England. He has performed live on Canada's nationally broadcast 100 Huntley Street and his song “Heartbeat” won 1st place in the International Songwriting Competition (Gospel/Christian category). His songs have reached the top of the charts on Canadian radio and on iTunes.
Sean has been recording, touring, and playing music professionally since 2002, working with acclaimed producers in Toronto and Nashville. In 2010, he turned his attention to mentoring younger musicians and is now the owner and operator of two music schools in Northern Ontario (North Bay School of Music and Sudbury Music Academy).
Sean is a visionary leader with a passion for creating meaningful musical experiences. His latest tour, "A Psalms Experience" was designed to take people on a journey through the Psalms; covering the wide spectrum of human emotions by using original songs, videos, instrumentals, scripture readings, and storytelling throughout the event.
His current project, Of The People, is all about combining the old with the new. Historic prayers and liturgies alongside modern music and songs. Of The People is a collective of artists and musicians from around the world. You can see some of their work HERE.
Sean is a proud dad of two kids and loves spending time with his family. Don't be surprised if you see them touring together somewhere in a motorhome :)
